July 28, 2016 – Innovative product developments further strengthen XLerant’s position as the nation’s leading budget software vendor with unmatched ease-of-use

XLerant Inc., a leading provider of cloud-based budgeting, forecasting, and reporting solutions, today announced that BudgetPak – the company’s award winning software recipient of BPM Partners’ highest ease-of-use rating this past June – will offer additional features designed to maximize time savings and cost controls, while improving communication and efficiencies for finance teams and budget managers.

BudgetPak is designed for organizations employing a distributed, collaborative budgeting model that need to engage, and increase ownership among, multiple non-financial managers. The latest BudgetPak features further XLerant’s mission, with:

Cross-organization Special Initiatives Budgeting: BudgetPak’s proprietary ActionPaks have long provided organizations with an easy way to build budgets and earmark spending or revenue from the standpoint of discrete initiatives, special projects or events. The new Shared ActionPaks upgrade allows BudgetPak administrators to budget for initiatives across multiple units and departments, with the ability to set usage parameters and requirements for each department. This new functionality gives finance and senior management valuable insight into the true cost of organization-wide special initiatives, while engaging budget holders in collaborative, team-based planning.

Detailed Forecasts: As an enhancement of BudgetPak’s forecasting platform, now, in addition to combining historical data with current budget data, users are able to forecast using detail below the account level – for example, by adjusting headcount, line item detail, and assets – while retaining events from the source budget.  With the visibility into this level of forecasting detail, budget managers have increased ownership while finance executives get increased transparency and more accurate data to inform critical resource decisions.

User Surveys: New to the features list for the third quarter is the BudgetPak Survey, which provides an avenue for gathering valuable feedback from budget managers. This provides an opportunity for continuous quality improvement of the budgeting and forecasting process – as well as a channel to assess employee understanding of key organizational strategies.  Survey responses are automatically complied and delivered in a flexible format for optimum ease-of-use.

“The Q3 BudgetPak enhancements will continue to support XLerant’s market leadership in the higher education sector,” said Joanne Brunn, CEO of XLerant. “They will also help to support our recent growth in verticals including not-for-profit, mission-driven organizations, and business services such as transportation and logistics, trade associations, real estate management and insurance.”

More than half of XLerant’s customers have 40 or more participants in the budgeting process, and a quarter have more than 100 people involved.

“The key unifying objective across all of our customers is the goal of building a better, more accurate budget by engaging the people closest to the day-to-day execution of the budget,” Brunn said. “The new features and functionalities are designed to support our customers in achieving strategic budgeting and forecasting success – by making budgeting with hundreds of participants both possible and painless.”
